Cruz: “I’m Ok With Gay Marriage, As Long As It’s Between A Gay And A Lesbian”

“Some Republicans hoped the issue of marriage equality would simply fade away in 2016 if the Supreme Court ruled in favor of it this summer. Not so fast. Ted Cruz and 11 other GOP senators have introduced the State Marriage Defense Act.

“Cruz said in a press release: “Even though the Supreme Court made clear in the United States vs. Windsor that the federal government should defer to state ‘choices about who may be married,’ the Obama Administration has disregarded state marriage laws enacted by democratically-elected legislatures to uphold traditional marriage.”

“He further added: “I support traditional marriage and we should reject attempts by the Obama Administration to force same-sex marriage on all 50 states. The State Marriage Defense Acts helps safeguard the ability of states to preserve traditional marriage for their citizens.”

“States do not presently have to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states; but the federal government does recognize legally performed same-sex marriages regardless of where a couple lives for the purposes of some federal benefits.

“Kerry Eleveld, a former reporter for The Advocate, said: “Basically, what Cruz is saying is that he absolutely wants to make sure that same-sex couples are stigmatized and discriminated against no matter where in the country they married. If they reside in one of 13 states that still outlaw same-sex marriage, they would have no access to federal benefits like filling joint tax returns or inheriting a spouse’s estate tax-free, or receiving a spouse’s social security survivor benefits. Because all of those things are precious federal benefits reserved for different-sex couples.”

“She added: “I wonder if he thinks gays should be able to visit each other in the hospital. Or does he want to go back to the days when people died alone in their hospital rooms without being able to see their partner?”

However, speaking exclusively to Newslo, Cruz stated that “even though people perceive him to be against gay marriage in general, that’s not the case.”

“To be perfectly honest, what someone does in the privacy of their own home is none of my business. What concerns me is the message we’re sending to America’s youth by allowing same-sex couples to do as they please. I’m all for traditional families; in fact, I don’t generally have anything against gay marriages either, as long as they’re between a gay and a lesbian. That’s really the only option that works for me,” he concluded.

    Yeah…. that’s not marriage. That’s a farce… or a bad joke.

So a marriage of convenience, with no love between them, for the purposes of defrauding the government is tolerated, whereas a loving couple getting married and sharing their lives is disgusting. Typical Republicans.

    Sanctity of Marriage!

The point was to allow marriage between a man and a woman only. Some of the world believes in morality still. Gay people are okay i do not like their lifestyle but just as my religion should not be pushed on anyone because it is my choice of a lifestyle their homosexual stuff should not be forced on my family or myself, as it is their choice of a lifestyle.

Having children or being married should not give you any tax credits. I was single and they taxed the crap out of me, while I was the only one paying my rent, car, insurance. Families work together to pay the bills and then pay less in and get more back. Now I am married and with 1 daughter. I still think it is unfair to tax the hell out of single people. That being said, I think gay/lesbian people should get the same breaks, and I think singles should get the same tax breaks. I am for less taxes all around, and less spending by our wasteful government.

Marriage is a Spiritual union between a Man, and a Woman, before God, and God alone. If a gay, or straight, couple want a union acknowledged by the State, let them form Civil Partnerships, and sign powers of attorney. Whatever “Spiritual” union you have with whoever, is between you and your Higher Power. The State has no jurisdiction in the Spiritual Plane. Just take Marriage away from government altogether.

Come on readers! This is a hybrid news/satire site and they even give you the option to show or hide the parts that are true. Goodness!

This makes me think that there is a Canadian of Cuban origin that’s trying to be President of USA by the Republicans and at the same time demonstrate that it can be dumber than the luminaries of Sarah Palin and George Bush jr, which I thought was not possible.

Some of the world believes in descrimination, the stone age, violence, hatred, lies, cheating, manipulation, and a house full of barefoot pregnant girls. It’s still ignorant, selfish, and self-centered. For all you homophobes ~ don’t worry no one is going to force their beliefs on you. No one wants to touch you or your family members. And no one wants to hear about your god, your sex, or your narrow political views. Each to his or her own.

Marriage is a civil right – not a religious one. You go to court to dissolve a marriage, not to church. You might get married in a church, but you still need a legal document (marriage license) to even do that. Keep your god and your religion out of this argument. The laws and legal rights in this country should apply to all citizens equally, including marriage.

I seriously cannot understand why people continue to vote for Republican politicians……the GOP politicians continue to tell those people what they want to hear……and those people continue with their ignorance and vote for them. To make it worse….those voters actual believe themselves and the GOP.

Ignorance at it’s best and he is such a rich source of ignorance. Well Texas has enough money at the moment to pay us when they loose federal cases over and over again. Pad my pocket… thank ya.

Newslo only wants people to argue in the comment section, and it works like a charm. Especially with the people who cannot figure out the “embellished parts” Usually the embellishment is so off the wall…a child SHOULD be able to know those words/setences were never said.
