Indiana Woman Marries Jesus Christ: “I Can’t Wait To Consummate My Marriage”

“A woman who married Jesus Christ in Indiana recently became the first consecrated virgin in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in 25 years and hopes her wedding can act as an inspiration for single women who may have a desire for marriage. Jessica Hayes, a 38-year-old theology teacher from Fort Wayne, had always wanted to commit her life more fully to the church and said that after years of soul searching, she felt called to marry the love of her life, Jesus.

“The beaming bride, dressed in a white floor-length wedding gown complete with a veil, tied the knot in a ceremony witnessed by hundreds at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. “Many people that I don’t even know were here to see that [the consecrated life] is a beautiful part of our faith and that was really wonderful to see,” a thrilled Hayes told Wane.com. The wedding was conducted by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades, who at one point took the traditional role of the groom by placing a ring on Hayes’ wedding finger.

“I am very excited to have done this,” Hayes told the media after the ceremony. “It has been 25 years since the last person did something like this in this area, so to be able to renew an old tradition and at the same time give hope to single women who are unable to find a partner is a true blessing. I am really happy and fulfilled,” she added.

The 38-year-old bride also said she was excited about another part of the marriage she is, apparently, eager to explore. “I can’t wait to consummate it. I mean, I can only imagine what kind of experience this is going to be and if I feel blessed now, I’m pretty sure I will feel like I’m in heaven this time tomorrow, quite literally,” Hayes said, seemingly unaware of the meaning of the term “consecrated virgin.”

Hayes then went on about her hopes for her wedding night: “I mean, I’ve never had sex, but I’ve heard stories from some of my girlfriends, and I can say that it sounds pretty good. And given the fact that my female companions have only experienced the act with mere men, I’m looking forward to experiencing Jesus’ skills tonight. I’m shaking even now, when I just think about it.”

“I’m not sure how it’s all going to go and if I’ll perform the way He expects me to, but all I know is that it should be motive enough for other women to follow in my footsteps,” the lucky bride concluded.
