Last week, televangelist Jim Bakker reacted to the presidential election results by prophesying that God will punish people who live in counties that voted for Hillary Clinton. Bakker pointed to a map that showed the results of the election by county and said that “if you live in the blue – any spot that’s blue – I would say, ‘Oh God, help me. Oh God forgive me.’ Because those are the ones who came against the will of God in this election.”
“And those are precisely the counties and states and areas that God is going to punish for their sins,” Bakker added. “And I have to make one thing clear: He won’t just punish them for voting for Hillary Clinton per se; he’ll do so for voting for abortion, for a platform that condones killing innocent, defenseless life and for doing so willingly, as a choice. The Hillary Clinton part is just in there for good measure, which is not to say she hasn’t done her share in blasphemy and sinful behavior. But, bottom line, if I were living in anywhere that’s marked blue on this map, I’d either be packing my bags right about now or praying the living daylights out of the Bible.”
The televangelist then said, “That’s why I’d like to ask everybody who’s watching this right now to find it in their hearts to send some money to me, so that I may be able to help those who will be hurt during God’s punishment of blue counties. I solemnly swear that I shall not withhold a single cent from those in need, and that I shall use that money to provide medical care, shelter, food and other supplies to whomever needs them in the aftermath of the terrible earthquake that’s on it’s way to those areas.”
“And there WILL be an earthquake, don’t you doubt that for a second,” Bakker added. “Because God keeps his promises. And in following his example, I too will do what I can to be prepared when the time of punishment finally comes. Urgent donations are the way to go here, because, a) I don’t have enough of my own money to carry out all the necessary preparations, and, b) this is the ideal time to put the innate altruism of most Americans to the test and see whether or not they are willing to help their fellow countrymen in their time of need and provide enough money for the necessary supplies. The only thing that I ask is that the urgent donations go through me, so that I may organize and set everything up in the best way possible.”
“We have at last, after many trials, managed to start over as a country and a nation, united by Donald Trump. Let us not lose that momentum of positive changes and let us use it to show our support and ease the pain of those who are about to suffer, if we can’t stop their suffering altogether. The storm is brewing, it’s on its way and all we need to remember is that this is for our own good; think of it as God’s lesson free of charge, well, other than the multi-billion dollar damage it’s going to cause, but all that can be rebuilt, unlike the millions of babies killed through abortions that will never forgive us for not having fought harder for them,” Bakker concluded.
