“Iowa – John Boehner, R-Ohio, is on a mission to destroy the diplomatic relationships between the United States and Russian Federation, apparently! The Republican candidate in Iowa stated that Russia would have never invaded any other country if former president George W. Bush had anything to say in the matter.
” “Does anybody think that Vladimir Putin would have gone into Crimea had George W. Bush been the president of the United States? No! Even Putin is smart enough to know that Bush would have punched him in the nose”, Boehner stated, according to the Quad Cities Online.
On the other side of the world, the Russian President was said to have laughed his bear hide off upon hearing House Speaker Boehner’s words…initially. Putin, who is not a man of many words, was said to have been unusually quiet in the days following the statement of the US Republican candidate.
“I was never too fond of the West as such, but I’ve always attempted to maintain a certain sense of politics and respectable diplomacy when it comes to treating foreign dignitaries. However, statements like these do not do well for my temper. At the end of the day, maybe I should remind Mr. Boehner that I’m a black belt in judo”, Putin semi-jokingly said in an interview with Russia Today.
What’s even more interesting is the fact that another former US President, Bill Clinton, made an interesting addition to the “conversation”: I can tell you that I wouldn’t want to be in W’s shoes right about now. I mean, I know he’s had CIA training in his day and all, but the Russians are not to be underestimated, not even ones as small as the current Russian President.
But on the other hand, that is a fight I would very much like to see. No, scratch that: I would pay to see that one, actually.”
