“Answers in Genesis CEO and President Ken Ham has said America is heading into a downward spiral, after taking a look at recent surveys pointing out the beliefs of the 20-somethings age group. The creationist blamed the belief in evolution for undermining the Bible.
““As Scripture reveals, it can take only one generation to lose a culture. Today, we certainly witness the loss of the once predominantly Christianized worldview in our society. The detailed research we conducted through ARG (and which confirms studies by other groups) makes it very clear that the beliefs of the 20s age group have created a tipping point in the culture.” Ham analyzed the results of the research, which found that the percentage of American adults who identify as Christians has dropped by nearly 8 percentage points in the past 7 years. And in 2014 only 70.6 percent of the population identified as Christian.
“And make no mistake – this kind of mindset will be our downfall, and by the looks of things, it will happen sooner rather than later,” Ham added. He then went on to claim that the “evolutionary beliefs of the 20-something age group across the nation are misleading and will bring nothing good, especially since they are more liberal than ever, which is contrary to traditional Christian doctrine.”
“Liberalism certainly has positive sides,” Ham asserted, and added, “but turning people away from Christianity is not one of them.
Christianity and a liberal mindset are not meant to go hand in hand, it’s either one or the other. And judging by these recent results, an increasing number of our kids is adorned by the latter. That won’t end well.”
The AiG president also presented a theory that liberalism has already begun to wreak havoc in the American society, starting with the “flagship disease – the LGBT community.”
“The belief in evolution allows people to escape from the traditionally strict rules of religion, causing them to have less inhibitions towards ‘modern’ notions such as the open acceptance of gays and lesbians. And that makes sense – when there are no rules to guide you and help you make decisions, you’re left to fend for yourself and are more inclined to accept something you’re maybe not completely open to, but are going to do it anyway because of peer pressure. That’s exactly why believing in evolution, in becoming something greater and better without having to work for it, often breeds the most devastating results. In my personal opinion, believing in evolution makes kids more prone to becoming gay,” he said.
Ham concluded by saying: “Evolutionary beliefs are just wrong, and the sooner our children realize it, the better. I mean, who’s to say the dinosaurs wouldn’t have also become extinct had they managed to survive the meteor? If they had started becoming gay, their numbers would have decreased and they would have eventually died either way. And that’s exactly the same downward spiral our 20-somethings are putting us on.”
