This is why I constantly say that conservative Republicans have lost their minds. They claim Jesus yet show no regard whatsoever for the poor, many of whom work 2-3 part-time jobs just to make ends meet. All poor people aren’t lazy.

OMG, what hatred they have for the poor. God help us. No real concern for the less fortunate, now they are going to make “children”work to eat. This is sad, sad, sad. In the USA. Kids are not responsible for their poverty. Heart breaking.

What about the Georgia Lottery, they started under the promise to help the Georgia school system? Let’s just say it like it is, another high minded rich republican trying to play god! Pathetic!!!

This is sad that he thinks it is appropriate to make children work for their lunch. “As a janitor” I don’t believe anyone would choose to be poor.

Everyone child does need to learn the value of a job well done and work values as well as moral values. But everyone child , [using your viewpoint] should work for their lunch. That way the “RICH” kids or as you put it – The kids that pay for their lunches eveidently pay for it from having after school jobs..YEAH RIGHT!!! parents pay for it , as they lucky enough in todays society, to have a job.. BUT its time to have all the kids work..That way the “rich” kids will learn to work and have some values and not look to someone else [be it parents or chores] to give them a handout and not expect to always have it handed to them. Children are children. Learning values at all ages is good..BUT your choice or words will loose you an election!!! Might wanta rethink your postion but one thing is for sure. You can NOT take what you said back ..

Bart halloway that’s different when family helps you it’s voluntary they have the option to say no. When its government helping its forced on everyone and generally those on government help will never get off it why should they your paying them to do nothing you set no limits on how long they can be on it or how many of their babies we will pay for.

The difference between conservatives and progressives is simple when a conservative is charitable he reaches into his own wallet when a progressive is charitable they steal it from everyone elses

No Beth we haven’t progressives have. Progressives fostered this sense of entitlement in their parents through the welfare state they passed it on to their kids now we are seeing yet another generation believing that this is how life should be. You progressives took away their pride and their ambition not us now we have to fix the mess you made

He is right we have allowed a sense of entitlement to develop in this country fostered by all the government hand out programs now I don’t think making them sweep the floors is the right thing to do but yes make them pay something. We need to teach these kids what some of their parents clearly aren’t that your only entitled to what YOU can pay for.
