The White House has shared the first official portrait of Melania Trump. Details about the photograph are still scarce, but officials say the picture was taken at the White House. “I am honored to serve in the role of First Lady, and look forward to working on behalf of the American people over the coming years,” Mrs. Trump said. It’s already been turned into an Internet meme and commentators have been comparing it to photographs of Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Once again, televangelist and host of “The 700 Club” Pat Robertson weighed in on the portrait. However, though he is an avid fan of the new First Lady, it would seem he is “conflicted” about her latest photograph because of the fact that “it could potentially cause an increase in lesbianism throughout America.” “I’m not kidding at all when I say that, and I think it would be wise for everyone in the country to take me seriously on this and heed my warning,” the conservative TV host argued on the latest edition of his show.
“Here’s what it’s all about,” Robertson continued to elaborate. “I’ve said on several previous occasions that I’m, honestly, infatuated with that woman and that I think she’s one of the most beautiful first ladies we’ve ever had. That’s no secret and everybody knows that. I’ve also said that she is so gorgeous that she could very easily eradicate homosexuals in America. It would be so easy to do that, I would go for it if I was her, I’d do it in a heartbeat. However, I have to admit I might have been rash, because there’s something I hadn’t considered when I made that claim. And that’s that there’s a delicate balance in all things, including, unfortunately, the effects of Melania’s good looks.”
He added, “Just as the very sight of her could cure homosexuals, I forgot to consider the fact that she could potentially have the same effect on lesbians in this country. Now, that’s an issue that’s just as dangerous as the homosexual one, no doubt about it. What if the sight of our new First Lady causes a surge in young women who opt to switch over to lesbians? Furthermore, what if this new White House portrait of her plays an instrumental role in all that? I mean, for all we know, that gorgeous portrait might spearhead a new uprising of lesbians in America, and they could easily use her image as a powerful motive for their campaign.”
“A similar thing happened in Russia a few years ago, when an English photographer went in to photograph Vladimir Putin,” the host revealed. “He had made several iconic photographs, one of which ended up being used on millions of posters and signs throughout Russia during anti-government and anti-Putin protests. In that situation, the photograph of their president became a symbol of resistance to the oppressive system. Now, far be it for me to claim that the system we have in place in America is oppressive – I personally think it’s the greatest system in the world – but, what if the same thing happens to Melania’s portrait?”
“We might not realize it yet, but the lesbian movement in America might just have gotten its strongest weapon to date. We have to be very careful here and keep a close watch over all of them. That being said, I still won’t be taking back what I said about Melania. That woman is just, ugh, I have no words to describe it. Heck, if I were a woman, I’d probably turn lesbian because of her. At the end of the day, even though I despise them, I can still empathize,” he concluded.
