Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday got into a heated exchange with reporter April Ryan after she asked about whether President Donald Trump is courting danger by contradicting his own administration’s lawyers about the nature of his proposed travel ban.
At issue was the fact that Trump on Monday morning sent out a tweet referring to his executive order on travel from certain Muslim-majority countries a “travel ban,” even though the administration’s own lawyers have insisted that it isn’t a travel ban.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders News About The Politically Correct
Ryan tried to ask Sanders how Trump could justify saying the DOJ should simply scrap the second version of his travel ban and go back to the original version of the ban – which was also tossed out of court. “He’s not concerned with being politically correct!” she replied. “He’s concerned with protecting the American people.” /span>
Huckabee also said, “Look, with all due respect to everyone present here, this is an issue that both I and every other member of the White House staff have addressed at least a dozen times. President Donald Trump is not someone who is concerned with being politically correct, period. If you wanted to identify the reason behind that, I imagine you would have to go way back.
He’s just not that kind of person. He’s all about the important things, the essence of things. Everything else is small-time as far as he’s concerned. And before you jump up and grab my throat because of what I just said, let me add: when I say small-time, I’m not referring to diplomacy or following protocol or anything like that. He knows that’s important and he sticks to it. My point is – he doesn’t concern himself with things that are not of the utmost importance – he just can’t afford to.”

Ryan Asked Again Politically Correct
“So, what you’re saying is that being politically correct is not important to the president at all?” Huckabee replied, “Well, if you’re asking me whether it’s more important to be politically correct or actually get things done around here, I’m going to have to go with the latter.” She continued, “You’ve all seen how things used to be done in this country up until recently.
I’m talking about the last president who valued political correctness and pampering foreign dignitaries more than making sure Iran never gets the money to develop nuclear weapons. And how do you think our country would have fared now if Barack Obama was still president? We all know he was very civil and had very nice manners. His problem was – that was about all he had.”
“On the other hand, President Trump is a man who doesn’t concern himself with petty things like political correctness when there are bigger problems to solve, for instance – oh, I don’t know – like, stopping Muslim terrorists from entering the country,” the Deputy White House Press Secretary argued.
He Said Even go so Far as to Say that
“In this day and age, one needs to be against everything that’s politically correct in order to get things done properly. America is the greatest country in the world and everybody’s jealous of us because of it. I don’t blame them, but it’s idiotic to ask that Donald Trump’s political tweets be correct as well. That’s just outright insane.”
“As a matter of fact, if anything, we need him to be even more unpredictable and impulsive. That’s the way to ensure our enemies never know what we’re going to do until it’s too late. We don’t need political correctness in America anymore, it’s obsolete; what we need is a man with some brass, like the one we have running the country right now,” Huckabee concluded.
