The day after the attacks on Paris, Ted Cruz said in an interview on Fox News: “President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s idea that we should bring tens of thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees to America – it is nothing less than lunacy. If there are Syrian Muslims who are really being persecuted, he said, they should be sent to “majority-Muslim countries.”
Then he reset his eyebrows, which had been angled in a peak of concern, as if he had something pious to say. And he did: “On the other hand,” he added, “Christians who are being targeted for genocide, for persecution, Christians who are being beheaded or crucified, we should be providing safe haven to them. But President Obama refuses to do that.”
“And mind you,” the senator from Texas continued, “not only are the refugees Muslim, but we also have indications that the vast majority of them are, in fact, gays. We have further been informed that these gay people are actually not in fear for their lives in their homeland, but have chosen to disguise themselves as refugees fleeing from war because they saw that as an opportunity to grab their own piece of the American dream.”
Cruz also went on to claim that the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage “further encouraged Muslim gays” living in Syria and other countries threatened by ISIS to embark on a journey to the promise land, where “people of all religions, sexual preferences and mental illnesses can live together in harmony and mutual respect.”
“That is why I am proposing we introduce a test throughout all of our nation’s airports, harbors and border crossings for refugees and those disguised as such who seek to enter America under the false pretense of fear from terrorism. A test that would put to trial their true religion and sexual deviances, so that we know what we’re facing,” Cruz said.
He added: “Allowing gays to marry is devastating enough without fortifying their ranks with an influx of Muslim homosexuals. Let me put it simple: the last thing America needs right now is more gays, and we could certainly do without several thousand Muslims who seek to colonize our great nation. If I’m president, that’s not going to happen.”
