“Donald Trump has been under fire for remarks he made on illegal immigrants during the announcement of his candidacy. “The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems,” he said. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
“While the remarks are certainly blunt, they’re not inherently wrong. Border Patrol recently seized just under $3.5 worth of marijuana from Mexican nationals in Arizona. There’s also been 40 cases of sex abuse by illegal aliens this year, and that’s just from what Border Patrol has posted as media releases on their website. A staggering amount of those cases involve children and minors.
Commenting on the Border Patrol’s reports, Trump stated that “it’s about time someone stood up to the Mexican government and put their foot down on illegal immigration.”
“This is just getting ridiculous,” Trump said. “We’ve got a situation where Mexicans are entering the United States as if we’re handing out gold here. And it’s not just that, they’re worsening the situation for other immigrants who are here legally. This has to end now and this has to end strong.”
The billionaire also provided an insight into some of his plans, should he be triumphant in the 2016 presidential election: “The very first thing on my to-do list if I make it to presidency will be to equip the entire U.S. Border Patrol with rocket launchers, and not just any rocket launchers. They are going to be American-made weapons that will serve in the defense of our great country. I really see no other way of stopping the Mexican infestation, since we’ve apparently exhausted all other options. Blowing up some of them will hopefully solve the problem.”
