Zimmerman In Custody After Mistaking Wife For Unarmed Black Teenager

LAKE MARY, Fla – George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of all charges in the killing of Treyvon Martin earlier this year, was taken into custody today after his wife Shellie reportedly told the police that he was threatening her and her father with a gun and yelling for the two “unarmed black teenagers” to “get the hell out of his in-law’s house.”

“George was running around, waving his gun like a madman, and telling me he was ready to ‘go all Trayvon’ on me,” said Shellie Zimmerman, who filed for divorce from her husband just last week. “Ever since the trial, he’s taken to accusing everyone he sees on the street of being an unarmed black teenager. I thought I was safe, since I only see him at home or in divorce court. Also, I was pretty sure he knew I was neither black, nor a teenager, nor, in fact, a boy.”

Police have said they are looking into “possible domestic battery” on the part of Mr. Zimmerman, tweeted the Orlando Sentinel’s Jeff Weiner. However, his lawyer, Mark O’Mara, pleaded for everyone involved to remain calm and not to jump to pre-conceived conclusions.

“My client is innocent until proven guilty,” he told reporters. “Remember, I got him cleared of murder last time, I’m pretty sure I can handle a stupid domestic abuse charge. Hell, we don’t even have a dead body to deal with this time.”

“I’ll have him out roaming the neighborhood with a loaded gun in no time,” he added.
