Taylor Swift is ending the year with a major announcement that will thrill fans worldwide. Fresh off a week-long promotional push for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, Swift revealed a six-episode docuseries offering a behind-the-scenes look at her historic Eras Tour.
Titled The End of an Era, the Disney+ series captures the tour’s development, impact, and intimate moments as Swift performed across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down,” Swift wrote on Instagram.
Alongside the docuseries, Swift is releasing an extended version of her Eras Tour concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show. Directed by Glenn Weiss and filmed at the tour’s final stop in Vancouver, the special edition includes the full “Tortured Poets Department” set, which was added after her April 2024 album release. The original concert film premiered in theaters in October 2023 and streamed on Disney+ in March.
The docuseries will also feature appearances from Swift’s collaborators, family, and friends, including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch, offering fans a personal glimpse into her world on and off stage.
In a promo for the series, Swift reflected on the journey of the tour:
“People like to talk about phenomenons almost as if it was pieces falling into place as if it just happened. ‘The Eras Tour’ wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place; this tour was just when every single one of us had done so much work, pushing inch by inch, to where we all clicked together. We have broken every single record with this tour. The only thing left is to close the book.”
With these releases, Swift not only celebrates the finale of her record-breaking tour but also gives fans a rare, detailed look into the artistry, preparation, and passion behind one of music’s most monumental live experiences.
