Country singer Drake White and his wife, Alex White, are grieving the loss of their newborn daughter, Della Elizabeth White, who died shortly after birth on August 31. She passed away at 9:12 a.m., just 20 minutes after Alex gave birth.

“We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her,” Alex White wrote on Instagram, sharing a tender photo of the couple holding their baby girl.

The couple announced their pregnancy in May, revealing to People magazine that they conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Della was originally due in November, and the Whites described sharing the news with family and friends as a deeply joyful experience.

“Sharing the news with our family and friends has been one of the best parts of the whole pregnancy,” Alex said. “We love seeing them as excited as we are to welcome a new baby into the world.”

The Whites are also parents to a 2-year-old son, William Hawk. Alex shared that while the couple is “heartbroken and soul tired,” their faith is helping them through this incredibly difficult time.

“The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday.”
